Julian is a two-trick pony. He holds a degree in computing and is an experienced IT consultant – building, managing and innovating everything from hairdressers’ websites to national business systems with thousands of users. Julian has been using the internet for business and learning since the early 1990s. He’s been getting computers to do useful things since a decade before even that. He has a view of where it’s all going, and has shared that insight with many businesses.

In addition to tech know-how, Julian has a deep interest in freshwater aquarium fishes. He writes, photographs, and talks fish. He travels to see them in the wild and maintains one of the UK’s most expansive collections of catfishes. Julian’s words and pictures are regularly published in Practical Fishkeeping Magazine, Aquarist & Pondkeeper and Tropical Fish Hobbyist. He also provides a range of talks on expeditions to collect fishes in countries throughout the Americas, Africa and Asia – he is invited to a few countries every year to share these experiences.
